Technical Background: Brightwell Aquatics PHYTŌGOLD-M is a concentrated suspension of Thalassiosira sp., a unicellular marine algae measuring 5 - 20µm with a rich nutritional profile. This algae is abundant in omega-3 fatty acids, ARA and DHA, and essential amino acids. As part of the nanoplankton size class, Thalassiosira is ideal for feeding various soft corals, clams, sponges, tunicates, plumed worms, bryozoans, larval invertebrates, and juvenile fishes. In addition to its natural amino acids, PHYTŌGOLD-M includes a proprietary amino acid shown to enhance coral and invertebrate coloration. A small amount of vitamin C is also included to boost the benefits, especially for corals and similar organisms that have undergone fragmentation or propagation. PHYTŌGOLD-M can be used with other planktonic suspensions to provide a complete range of sizes for filter-feeding and planktivorous organisms. Instructions and Guidelines: Shake product well before use. Turn off protein skimmers and other mechanical filtration before adding food suspensions to aquaria, and allow 10-15 minutes after feeding before resuming filtration. Target Feeding (Recommended): Use a piece of rigid air tubing, plastic syringe, pipette, dropper, or similar device. Pour 5 ml (1 capful) into a small container and draw a portion into the feeding device. Slowly discharge the contents 2-4" upstream of the target organism(s). Repeat as necessary. Rinse the feeder (inside and outside) before placing it into this bottle to avoid contamination and decomposition of the product. Broadcast Feeding: Add up to 5 ml per 50 gallons of water in the aquarium system in an area of rapid water movement daily for the first four weeks. Gradually increase the dosage as desired thereafter. Notes: Add no more than 5 ml total of liquid food suspensions per 50 gallons of water daily for the first four weeks. Gradually increase the dosage to allow biological filtration to adjust and prevent water quality deterioration.
